CES 2019: Nvidia unveiling the GeForce RTX 2060 GPU at the trade show

Nvidia at CES 2019 announced its GeForce RTX 2060 GPU, offering consumers ray tracing capabilities and visual effects at a relatively low price point. Nvidia also announced mobile versions of its GeForce RTX-Series graphics cards. As for the desktop GeForce RTX 2060, graphics cards based on it, including a Founders Edition release from Nvidia itself, will go on sale on January 15 priced at $349 (approximately Rs. 24,300). The company also announced its mobile GeForce RTX 2080, GeForce RTX 2070, and GeForce RTX 2060. Laptops from multiple major manufacturers with these GPUs will be available for purchase on January 29 in the USA. The new desktop and mobile GPUs should be available in India at the same time or shortly thereafter.


The new GeForce RTX 2060 GPU is strategically important for Nvidia, as it brings RTX capabilities to a wider audience thanks to its lower price tag. On stage at the launch event just before CES 2019 kicks off in Las Vegas, Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang said that the company has tuned the specifications of the GeForce RTX 2060 keeping in mind the negative early reactions to the previously launched GeForce RTX 2070, GeForce RTX 2080, and GeForce RTX 2080 Ti.
